The first of two half marathon race events in what has become the Atlantic City Marathon Race Series — the second takes place in October, with the running of the Atlantic City Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K & 5K — while the Atlantic City April Fools Half Marathon makes its 14th annual running in April 2025.

Like the fall race, the springtime April Fools Half Marathon will take runners along the Atlantic City Boardwalk, for a long, straight out-and-back course that starts and finishes in front of Resorts Casino Hotel and Margaritaville, near the intersection with North Carolina Avenue. From there, runners head southwest along the shore, running along the boardwalk for about the first few miles of the course. Once runners reach the turn off the boardwalk at New Haven Avenue, they turn right and then make another quick left to turn onto Atlantic Avenue. The next few miles of the race take them along Atlantic Avenue, all the way down to the half-way turnaround point of the half marathon, at Atlantic and 23rd Avenue. Once they make the turn there and start heading back northeast along Atlantic Avenue, runners then retrace their steps along the route they’ve just run, all the way back to the race finish line on the boardwalk at North Carolina Avenue. Runners will make their way through Ventnor, Margate and Longport on the way down, and then again through the same three communities in reverse on the way back. A little over half of the course will be run on the wooden surface of the Atlantic City Boardwalk — with the famous views of the Atlantic Ocean for this entire stretch of the race — while the portions along Atlantic Avenue will of course be run on paved surfaces. The terrain will be flat for the entire race. Runners will have 4 hours to complete the half marathon.
