Set for the weekend before Thanksgiving, the Davis Turkey Trot features a flat, loop-style course that runs through downtown Davis, a city of some 65,000 souls that’s home to the University of California-Davis here in Northern California’s Sacramento Valley.
After finishing the race, all runners are invited to stay for the post-race expo featuring food and beverages, live music, and arts and crafts.
The start and finish lines are located within the same block of Civic Center Field. Runners will begin on 6th Street before heading north onto H Street. After crossing Covell Boulevard, just past the first mile, runners make a loop around Cannery Loop, California’s first farm-to-table new home community.
After finishing the loop at Cannery Loop, runners head north along F Street and then left onto the trail, which goes behind the residential neighborhoods and toward Vic Fazio Highway. The course loops out and back parallel to the Highway and runners will pass the halfway point along the highway.
