The MVRA Benefit Classic is Dubuque Benefit Classic Half Marathon and 5K is a race that takes place in Dubuque, Mississippi. Participants can choose among a 5K, half marathon, and a relay challenge. The relay challenge involves assembling a 2, 3, or 4-person team. The race consists of four segments distributed equally across the 13.1-mile half marathon course, with relay handoff points at A.Y. McDonald Park and the Bee Branch Creek Greenway.
The race will be chip-timed, and awards will be based on gun time. The overall male and female winners of the half marathon will receive $400, with the first master’s finisher (40+) in both genders earning $250. Second and third place in each category will be rewarded with cash prizes as well. All registered runners are eligible to enter a raffle for a pair of shoes, and there are ten to be won. Post-race, there is a pancake luncheon, where participants can mingle with vendors.
All proceeds from this year’s race will go to the Veterans Freedom Center, catering to the needs of active-duty, reserve, and all honorably discharged Tri-State military veterans.
