Welcoming participants to the 8th annual HOODOO Half Marathon, this community-favorite event is all about bringing everyone together for a fun-filled, energy-packed day that surely doesn’t end once you cross the finish line.
With every dollar reinvested into making the event the best experience it possibly can be, the HooDoo Brewing Company doesn’t take a dollar of profit and, instead, puts it towards all things race day, with any leftover money being donated to local non-profits. Rain, snow, or shine, participants are encouraged to come out along this point-to-point course to run, walk, jog, or gallop, all in the name of chasing that ever-so-delightful post-race pint of BEER! While the course is likely to venture along highways and backroads, runners can still expect to enjoy the undeniable scenery that Fairbanks, Alaska has to offer, from vast forestry to far-off rolling hills; Hopefully, the autumn colours will be a spectacle in full bloom!

While the 2023 course map has yet to be released to the public, all runners can guarantee that the half marathon course will end at the HooDoo Brewing Co. for the long-awaited after-party. One thing is for sure, this course will be completely new and fresh from previous years. So, while we don’t know what to expect, a race-day surprise is always welcome for that extra bit of added anticipation. If previous years are any tell to what you can prepare for, the course is likely to remain a mixed bag of paved roads, railroads, and trails.
With over 600 registered participants and a cut-off time of five (5) hours, runners shouldn’t feel overwhelmed going into this race; after all, it’s all about having fun! Depending on the day’s weather, you can arrive in fashion with the complimentary long-sleeve tech race shirt. After finishing, you’ll be provided with post-race snacks, two (2) drink tokens, and an after-party to remember at HooDoo Brewing Co.
