Fast & Flat
Park Run
High: 56°
/ Low: 37°

Part of a series of half marathon and triathlon races based in the New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania region, the Love Run Philadelphia follows a largely fast and flat route that features views of the Schuykill River, West Fairmount Park, and many of Philadelphia’s most historic sights.

Runners follow an out-and-back course for the Love Run, which starts and finishes at the Eakins Oval near the Philadelphia Museum of Art, near the northwestern end of Benjamin Franklin Parkway. From there, the course heads southeast along the Ben Franklin Parkway, around the Swann Memorial Fountain and onto Race Street, which keeps runners heading southwest toward the Philadelphia City Hall, which they’ll pass as they run along John F. Kennedy Boulevard. That’s followed by turns onto Market Street, 5th Street and Arch Street, a stretch that brings runners through Independence Mall, the three-block section of the city’s Independence National Historical Park. There, you can visit the National Constitution Center, the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, where both the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution were debated and drafted by the founding fathers and eventually became the nation’s touchstone founding documents. Once runners make it around Arch Street and back past City Hall, the course heads northwest along Race Street and Ben Franklin Parkway back toward the Eakins Oval, where runners will head over the bridge that crosses the Schuykill River and onto West River Drive. This stretch they’ll remain on for the next five miles, as they follow the winding river north all the way to the turnaround between miles 9 and 10 on Martin Luther King Drive. After making the turn, runners head south, retracing their steps along the river. They will take a left onto Greenland Dr. ramp before making it onto Greenland Drive. The course follows Ford Rd and Chamounix Dr for the next few miles before meeting up with Greenland Dr once again which leads to MLK Dr and the finish line in front of the Art Museum across from the start. Race Weather & Climate Nestled along both the Schuykill and Delaware Rivers in southeastern Pennsylvania, about 95 miles southwest of New York City, Philadelphia typically sees still quite cold weather conditions in late March, with occasional snow. On race day (March 30), the average low is 37ºF and the average high is 56ºF.
