The New England Series Half Marathon has been a beloved event for the past 10 years, bringing runners from all over the world to experience the breathtaking scenery and welcoming communities of New England. What makes this race truly special is not only the beauty of the individual courses, but the warmth and camaraderie shared among participants. Another unique thing about this race is that it goes through six different states, allowing runners to explore and discover all the different cities and towns along the way. You can sign up for just one of the races (half or full marathon) in the series, or complete all six. It’s up to you!

The first race starts in Simsbury, Connecticut, runners will run along the Iron Horse Greenway, an asphalt path with plenty of shade and a moderate incline gain of 13′. Moving onto Rhode Island, the next race takes place at Blackstone River State Park Visitor’s Center, located on I-295. The course offers scenic views along the asphalt bike path, with rolling hills and moderate shade. The race series continues to Holyoke, Massachusetts, where runners in the third race will experience the tranquil and peaceful trails at Ashley Reservoir. Located off Whitney Avenue, behind Elk’s Lodge, the course features a wide crushed gravel trail with abundant scenic views. The course is horseshoe-shaped, making it easy for runners to come back towards the starting line. For day four of the races, in Springfield, Vermont, runners will run along the Toonerville Trail, a smooth asphalt rails-to-trails path that provides moderate shade. The starting location is on 290 Clinton Street. The course features a moderate incline gain of 31′, making it a mostly flat course. On the fifth day of racing in New Hampshire, you’ll start at Monadnock Park, located on 190 Broad Street in Claremont, NH. The course features a mix of asphalt and crushed gravel on the Bobby Woodman Trail, with moderate shade and a short narrow section. Again, this course is fairly flat. Finally, the race series ends in Sanford, Maine, at the Sanford Springvale YMCA. The course runs along the Mousam Way Trail, an asphalt path with plenty of shade and a moderate incline gain of 36′. Overall, the New England Series Half Marathon Races offer runners a unique opportunity to explore and discover the beauty of New England while challenging themselves both physically and mentally. The races are suitable for both serious runners and those looking for a more leisurely experience. All finishers receive separate medals for each day, and special awards are given to those completing all races in a series. As an added bonus, the final finisher of each marathon and half marathon receives the famous caboose award!
