The moderately hilly, gentle elevation of the roads along the countryside in the central Florida city of Haines City are the setting for the Orange Blossom Half Marathon & 5K Fun Run, which makes its 13th annual running in the late winter/early spring of 2022.

Featuring an out-and-back course that takes runners along the rural countryside of Haines City for nearly the entire race, the Orange Blossom Half starts and finishes in Haines City’s Lake Eva Park, which lies in central Florida’s Polk County.

From the starting line at Lake Eva Park on Johns Avenue, runners head eastward first toward South 30th Street, passing Boone Middle School and Haines City High School. From there, the course continues south along South 30th Street before turning on Marion Road toward Detour Road.

Runners then make a loop on to White Clay Pit Road, Bice Grove Road, and Bannon Island Road before retracing their steps toward the start/finish line, detouring only for a brief run along the Haines City Trail.

While the terrain for the race is made up of paved surfaces throughout, runners can expect to encounter a few hilly stretches along the course.

The course will be closed after 4 hours, so runners who haven’t yet completed the race by then will be asked to move from the roadway onto the sidewalk.
