The Sea Turtle Half Marathon, Sweetheart 5k, and 1 Mile Fun Run is a popular annual event hosted by the LA Fleet Running Club at the same location as always; the Hangout by the Gulf Shores along the Gulf Coast beach line. Flat and Fast, this up-and-back race takes runners along the beautiful unpaved coastline of the Gulf Coast beaches in Gulf Shores, Alabama, with pleasant temperatures in February hovering between 50-60 degrees Fahrenheit, making for comfortable running conditions! While it might be February, runners can still expect scenic views of white-sandy beaches, painted blue skies (hopefully), and constant entertainment via supportive spectators littered throughout the course.

Starting at the Hangout by the Gulf Shores located at 101 E. Beach Blvd., this simple and straight course directs runners along the beach coastline before turning around and heading back to the Hangout where it all started.
Beginning bright and early with an official start time of 7:30 a.m. this small community event has no cut-off time or cap of registrants; simply show up and prepare yourself for a good time!
After finishing this community event, whether the half marathon, 5k, or 1 miler, all runners come together for a post-race feast and after-party by the beach to celebrate their newly obtained finisher medals.
