The Sunflower Trail Marathon & Half Marathon takes place in Winthrop, WA. There is a marathon, half marathon, and marathon relay. For this event only, the otherwise private property is open to runners, and registration is limited.
The course begins at 2180 feet elevation from Mazama, climbs to 2600 feet, and finishes at 1600 feet in Twisp. Runners navigate single track trails, well-marked deer trails, and gravel roads. There are plenty of views of the Methow River, North Cascades and flowery meadows. Proceeds from the event supports year-round trail operations in the Methow Valley.
