Welcome to the scenic Loudoun Wine Country, where the journey of a lifetime awaits at the start and finish line of this remarkable race. Set against the backdrop of lush vineyards, sprawling farms, and historic estates, this bucolic course winds its way through the heart of Virginia’s picturesque wine country, offering participants a truly unforgettable experience.
The race kicks off and concludes at the stunning Doukenie Winery, a fitting setting for the start of this extraordinary journey. Runners will embark on a flat course that meanders along historic byways, showcasing the natural beauty of the region as it passes vineyards, farms, ranches, and estates.
As participants make their way through the course, they’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, with miles marked every 5 miles to track their progress. With a time limit of 3.5 hours (16:00 min/mile pace), runners have ample opportunity to soak in the sights and sounds of this scenic route.
Water stops are strategically placed along the course, ensuring runners stay hydrated and energized throughout their journey. At each stop, participants will find a refreshing selection of water, electrolytes, and gels to fuel their race. Additionally, port-a-potties are conveniently located at key points along the route for added convenience.
Upon crossing the finish line, participants are invited to celebrate their accomplishments at the post-race Wine & Music Festival, presented by the Loudoun Wineries Association. It’s a chance to unwind and toast to a race well run, surrounded by the beauty and bounty of Virginia and DC’s Wine Country.
